The organisers of Warwick Folk Festival say the event is on track to go ahead as planned this summer – with a few changes.
Throughout 2020 many festivals have been cancelled due to the impact of Covid-19, including the Warwick Folk Festival last year.
But Folk Festival director Dick Dixon says the team behind the event are determined it will run as planned from July 15 to 18 – even if they have to sell less tickets.
The team behind the popular festival has already secured an extra field to allow for social distancing, as well as more toilets and hand-washing facilities.
Dick said: “We have a great new site and we’ll be set up to keep within the government guidelines for social distancing.
“You can’t buy a tent at the moment – so many people are planning to stay in this country and look for a holiday here. Festivals will be the perfect opportunity to get a break.
“We will always be sticking to the government guidelines. We may have to cut the number of people we can let in, but we’re adamant we’ll go ahead and provide something the town, and our many lifelong supporters across the country, can look forward to this year.”
