Noted translator KP Balachandran passes away | KP Balachandran

Thrissur: Popular Malayalam translator KP Balachandran passed away in Thrissur. He was 81.
Balachandran, a native of Kandassamkadavu, is the son of Vidwan K Prakasam. He is also popular as an engineer, writer and historian.
He has translated many books to Malayalam including the popular works penned by Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, DH Lawrence, Victor Hugo and Taslima Nasrin.
Balachandran was born in 1939 at Manaloor in Thrissur. He completed his studies at Thiruvanapuram engineering college and Mysore University.
The noted translator has penned 91 books including 12 historic books.
Complete collection of Sherlock Homes published by Mathrubhumi Books was his last published work.
He has bagged the best translator award constituted by Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature.
He is survived by wife Dr Santha Balachandran and two sons Vinod KB and Anand KB.
