KC Performs | Ballet Street Project Gives Us a Lift

Some folks just have to dance, no matter the circumstance.

That was the response of the people attached to the Ballet Street Project, a creation of local ballet dancers pushed off their normal stage by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ballet Street Project is a bit of an artistic happening,” explains Tempe Ostergren, creative director and producer. “Dancers needed an outlet….We needed to create something that was uplifting, inspiring, beautiful for everyone to see.”

Watch the attached video, filmed on the grounds of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, to revel in their performance accompanied by Jake Wells’ song, “Habit.”

Ballet Street Project is one of many local arts groups featured in “KC Performs,” a new Kansas City PBS show designed to offer a televised stage in lieu of in-person performances.
