Dec 19 | Mezzo-soprano Chrystal E. Williams & pianist Ronaldo Rolim
In our 80th season, Tri-County Concerts is presenting virtual concerts that can be viewed at your convenience during a two-week window on a pay-what-you-wish basis. Our December concert (available through Wed. Dec. 23) features mezzo-soprano Chrystal E. Williams and pianist Ronaldo Rolim performing Schumann love songs, Britten lullabies, and spirituals, ending with Gershwin’s Summertime.
Acclaimed as “a singer of rare power and clarity” (The Philadelphia Inquirer) and “a joy to listen to and watch – the complete package” (Operatoonity), Chrystal E. Williams made her Metropolitan Opera debut last year and has performed numerous leading roles, including Rebecca in Charlie Parker’s YARDBIRD, which she created for Opera Philadelphia. She won the Musical Fund Society of Philadelphia’s 2020 Career Advancement Award and is an Astral Artists Laureate.
Brazilian Ronaldo Rolim, himself a winner of Astral’s 2017 National Auditions, has won multiple competitions and performed extensively over four continents. His playing has been praised for its “consummate elegance” (New York Concert Review) and “technical dexterity” (El Norte).
