Rather than the usual images of her working her magic behind the lens, the filmmaker shared a beautiful picture on social media where she is taking centre stage in a bharatanatyam pose.

Speaking about the significance and auspiciousness of the occasion, the Koode director wrote, “Vijayadashami is always so special because of the new re-start to every type of expression one learns. It’s one of the many treasured moments that we have as students of classical dance and music. Now the only dancing I do is on Vijayadashmi with fond memories of a past life!” Several industry colleagues, including actor-director Geetu Mohandas and actors Priyanka Nair and Srindaa, commented with heart emojis on the post.

Today is an important day for the arts, with children being initiated not only in the world of letters by prominent gurus, but also into dance, music and other performing arts.
