When you think about Sacramento holiday traditions several come to mind. There’s the tree lighting ceremony in front of the Capitol, ice skating in DOCO and the Theatre of Lights in Old Sac. But it’s the celebration in the Fabulous 40s that is now at the center of controversy. “It is kind of a recipe for disaster,” said resident Kelly Harbitter. That recipe is made up of a heaping portion of holiday lights, a backup of traffic and a smattering of unusual transportation down neighborhood streets. The Fab 40s contains a collection of festive cheer spanning several blocks. It draws hundreds of people every night through the month of December. “This has become a main event,” Harbitter added. A main event which not everyone is happy to see.
